Chief  J. A. Berry

   Chief Adam Berry has been a member of the Griffith Fire Department since 1993. During his years of service he has worked his way through the ranks. He was elected as Chief in 2004 after serving as Deputy Chief under Paul Lambeth since 2001.

   Since serving as Deputy Chief, Adam was responsible for coordinating the Griffith Fire Department 50th Anniversary celebration. He spent many hours gathering support, researching and contacting past members and planning the event in general. Since elected in 2004 Chief Berry has been instrumental in putting in place a EMS First Responder program and implementing a paid program to provide 24 hour staffing. This is something never done before in Griffith Fire Department history. Chief Berry, with help from several other members has created a very successful First Responder program that now gets many compliments from the citizens and other area agencies. Chief Berry has also lead our department through another round of city annexations. The annexations have claimed much of the Griffith Fire Dept. district and tax-base. Chief Berry has made this transition very smooth for our department and helped assure that our department we be able to continue the level of service that the department has provided in the past.

    Along with the many administrative hours, Adam also works as a one of the part-time employees. He also serves as a member of the Griffith Fire Dept. Board of Directors and represents our department in the Forsyth County Fire and Rescue Association as President of that association. He is also responsible for representing our department in Davidson County and at the NC State Firemen's Association.
